Career plans & roadmaps

Flow type: Agency · Product: StudyHQ Portal (team)

Where: Students → click the student → Overview tab.

This is where the counselling work culminates. Counsellors and admins work here; members see it read-only.

The Overview tab

  • The career-path hero — the assessment’s top matches. Select up to 2 directions with the student.
  • SWOT — strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, auto-generated from the assessment and intake, plus your own items. Resolve threats as you address them — blocking threats must be resolved before the plan can be locked.
  • Action items — tasks for you and the student, with due dates and checkboxes. Items due today surface on the counsellor dashboard as follow-ups.
  • The Lock career plan button — below.
  • Recent activity — a live feed of what changed on this student.

Locking the career plan

When you and the student have agreed on a direction:

Lock career plan

On the Overview tab, click Lock career plan.

Pick up to 2 paths

Choose from the full catalogue — searchable, and not limited to the recommendations. For classes 11–12 you lock courses; for class 10 and below, streams.

Confirm

The case moves to execution, and the student’s roadmap appears in their app — colleges, entrance exams and scholarships for the locked path(s).

Plans change? Unlock (with confirmation) reverses the lock so you can adjust and lock again.

Viewing what the student sees

  • Career report — from the student’s Assessments tab, click View report. It opens in a new tab: the same report the student sees, with stream or course recommendations and the reasoning behind them.
  • Roadmap — once a plan is locked, click View roadmap → on the Overview tab. It opens in a new tab and shows exactly what the student sees.
