The three panes
Settings opens with its own small sidebar of three panes:
General
Where: Settings → General.
Edit project
Project name, display name (shown to students), website, and the image and icon that brand the project.
Boards served
Which school boards this project serves. Leave every board unpicked to offer them all; pick exactly one — a single-board school — and students are never asked for a board: it’s filled in for them.
Assessment settings
Each assessment type carries its own time limit — the course limit (classes 11–12), the stream limit (class 10 and below, falling back to the course limit if unset), and the learning limit when that battery is on your plan. The student’s grade picks the one that applies.
If your plan carries the Learning Assessment — the study-skills battery for grades 7–10 that schools often add — this section also gains Assessments served: when the plan grants more than one battery for grades 7–10, choose the default for new students — the stream-selection assessment, the Learning Assessment, or both. (You can change it for an individual student on their case; classes 11–12 always sit the course recommendation assessment.)
Contact, location & danger zone
Contact email and phone (for students to reach your team), your address — and the danger zone, where deleting the project permanently removes its students, sessions, and data.
Workflow
Where: Settings → Workflow.
Journey phases
See the phases your students move through: joining, need analysis (which you can switch on or off), assessment, your counselling sessions, and execution.
Session names
Rename your sessions to whatever you call them — Report interpretation, Parent discussion, and so on. Sessions run in this order for every student.
Renames apply everywhere immediately — calendars, emails, Bixa — even for sessions already booked.
Session length
One setting (between 15 and 240 minutes) used by every booking, calendar slot, and availability editor.
Intake & Profile — the student form
Where: Settings → Intake & Profile.
One grid controls the student experience. For each field, tick whether it’s:
- Collected — asked when a student joins (in the add-student form, the import template, and the student’s first-login wizard), and
- Shown — displayed on their profile.
You can add your own custom fields, and choose which field acts as the student’s display name across the portal.
Anything you mark as collected but don’t fill in yourself (when adding or importing) is asked of the student the first time they log in — so a bulk import with just email addresses still ends with complete profiles.
Grades & assessments — how the pieces fit
The grades your project serves decide which assessment students get:
A project that only serves class 10 and below never asks about streams anywhere — not in the add-student form, the import template, or Bixa.
The grade list in the add-student form and the import template only offers the grades your project serves — one more reason to set this before adding students.
